In the UK, a death must normally be
registered within 5 days in the district it
has occurred. If a Coroner is involved, it
may not be possible to register the death
within 5 days. The Coroner will advise
you on when to register the death.
At the Registrar's
You should take with you the medical certificate issued
by the Doctor showing the cause of death and the
deceased's medical card.
The Registrar will also require the following

The Registrar will issue a death certificate which is
required by the Funeral Director.The Registrar will also
provide a certified copy of the Entry of Death,which may
be required by insurers, banks etc.
